About Us
Our names are Samantha and Melanie. We are from Vancouver, Canada, & are CRAZY cat ladies. We have 3 kitties that we love and adore. We founded RYERCAT after a bad encounter with dental issues that we were completely unaware of. Two of our kitties had to undergo dental surgery, and we felt like TERRIBLE pet parents!
In an effort to never let our kitties suffer again, we set out on the search for the best toothpaste & cat toothbrushes we could find. Long story short, there was nothing great... so we made it!

Shortly after COVID began, Cat Mom #1 quit her job as a Registered Nurse in Dental Anesthesia to pursue building RYERCAT. Dr. Matt McGlasson is a world renowned veterinarian known for his expertise in feline health and wellness. With a significant following on TikTok and Instagram under the handle @dr.mattmcglasson, he shares valuable insights and advice on pet care.

How often should I brush my cats teeth?
Ideally, once a day is best practice to maintain good oral health.
What should I use as toothpaste?
An enzymatic pet toothpaste or simply coconut oil works great! Do NOT use human toothpaste, as fluoride is toxic to cats.
Does each cat need thier own toothbrush?
For hygenic reasons, its best for each cat to have thier own toothbrush. This is why we make so many colors! Would you share a toothbrush with your brother? No way!!! Gross!!
Is the RYERCAT toothbrush safe?
Yes, the RYERCAT Toothbrush is very safe. Our toothbrush is the only pet toothbrush made of biodegradable cornstarch that is a softer material than hard plastics. This means if your cat bites down, they will not chip their tooth (but you may see a little dent on your toothbrush!).
